Object description :

"French School (c. 1780) - Portrait Of A Woman As Charlotte"
- Oil on canvas. A magnificent pre-revolutionary female portrait that presents a mature woman coquettishly adorned with a cloche or charlotte hat much appreciated by the bourgeoisie of the time. The representation of the textiles is exceptional, as is the absolute naturalism with which the artist created the effigy of the lady, who is presented to us as she is, with no other ornament than her ornate headdress. A painting that captures the spirit of its time. - Dimensions of the image without frame: 74 x 60 cm / 94 x 80 cm with beautiful old gilded wooden frame. - From a private collection in Paris. - Good general condition. Minimal defects. Recovered work. - Galerie Montbaron encloses a technical sheet drawn up by a qualified art historian with all its lots.
