Marguerite Aers is a leading figure of modern Impressionism, active in the mid-20th century between Brussels and Paris.
She is recognized as one of the most brilliant heirs to Impressionism.
She drew deep inspiration from the great masters of her time, combining Claude Monet’s mastery of outdoor light with the grace of Auguste Renoir’s female figures.
Nicknamed “the painter of joyful femininity,” she excels in Belle Époque-inspired genre scenes.
Her Post-Impressionist technique is characterized by a lively, free-flowing brushstroke applied in thick layers of paint.

She studied and trained at theAcademy of Fine Arts in Bruges
She was part of a highly creative circle and was married to the Belgian painter Jacques Geuens.
The couple often exhibited together in renowned galleries in the French capital and in Belgium, particularly during the 1950s.
Her technique is characterized by a vibrant, spontaneous brushstroke, often executed with a rich texture.
In good overall condition; note a small, barely visible indentation on the front (see photos).
