The beginning of the manufacture of Ghom rugs in Iran was established in this city around 1920/1930. It is to the initiative and perseverance of the knotters and merchants of Kashan to whom we owe these wonders.
Our model adopts the criteria of the Ghoum of good quality, knotted with a magnificent quality of wool. It presents fine and precise designs, matched with colors pleasing to the eye. We also find, many similarities, in the medallions and borders with the Kashan type.
Our model presents, a pile and selvedges in very good condition. Initially the manufacture in Iran of these beautiful very resistant rugs is certainly recent. But the skilled and precise knotters as well as the "Ostads" cartoonists have imposed their know-how thanks to the perfection of their work and the amplitude of the range of designs and colors.

### The "boteh" is a Zoroastrian sign of immortality, the most credible hypothesis of its form is the representation of the cypress maynu spentas, it is believed to be associated with the light of the God Ormuzd and the person of Zoroaster.
At his death he is carried to the top of a mountain where he is transformed. Another legend: it would be a cypress of paradise planted by Zoroaster and Kashmar (Turchiz) which would have become the highest in the world.
A symbol coming from the mists of time.
The regular flowered border is followed on both sides by two pale blue background braids of the most beautiful effect; Marketing is done under several names: Qom, Ghom, Gom, Qum, Kum, and Ghoum.
