Miniature portrait on glass, one silhouette portrait standing out in black of a handsome young man, on a background of gold leaf plated under glass, drawing was executed with a drypoint and maintained by a second layer passed with lampblack.
Probably French work, early 19th century.
Dimensions: diameter of miniature: 6.5cm, with the black lacquered turned wooden frame: 10cm x 1.5cm.
Good condition, except for small stains in decoration: we re-blackened the 2nd layer, (on tin), and executed with gold leaf the filling of some scratches on gilded background,
