Paris Porcelain Coffin - Early 19th Century
Oval in shape, resting on an unglazed base with a blue background. The edge of the base is decorated with a golden frieze of leafy garlands, while the top is entirely gilded. On this base are placed two cups in the shape of scallop shells: one intended to contain the ink, the other for the dusting powder and a pen holder. These two receptacles are separated by a stylized fish, erected in the center.
