Depicting The Ice Cream Maker on Horseback in Wetteren painted in 1973. Press article on the back from 1983 expressing indignation that the ice cream seller is now in a car, titled: The Ice Cream Seller without a Horse is not Marcel!
It relates that Marcel D'Hauwe had been selling his ice creams since 1958 with the team shown in the photo and in our painting. The painter annotated it on the right as having painted it in 1973, 10 years before the article.
Felix Adams, 1919-?, Belgian painter of landscapes and still lifes. Self-taught, he made copies of Old Masters for a long time and was Chief Commissioner in Saint Gilles, where the Cité Fontainas preserves some paintings. Artist listed in the Piron.
