Snuffbox With Numerous Masonic Symbols "long Live The Union"
Very interesting and curious snuff box rich in many Masonic symbols in very finely carved bone:
Sun, Phrygian cap, horn of plenty, sailboat, painter's palette, anchor, purses, beehives, plowshare...
In the center a flag bearing the words "Long live the Union" On the edge, transcribed here with the same spelling: "May this no be forever the height of our sou"
This marvelous work of miniature sculpture has a blue/green fabric as a support.
Under glass and set in a lid which seems to be made of horn lined with tortoiseshell
The other part of the snuff box is made of tortoiseshell, with a small gallery in gilded brass.
