Bronze with a brown patina, signed – minor wear to the head, some small oxidation spots, and dust on the talons. Born in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. His poor behavior led to frequent changes of school. In 1913, he graduated from the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. He then created a wide range of sculptures, including animals, historical figures, and Buddhist statues, hoping to be selected for the Teiten (Salon). Success came only in 1919 when Prince Kotohito Kan'in purchased one of his pieces at the National Animal Exhibition. In 1920, he finally won an award at the Salon and became a student of Fumio Asakura, subsequently receiving numerous accolades. He retired from sculpting in 1941 to dedicate himself to spiritual life. In 1951, he participated in the construction of the giant Buddha temple in Komatsu, where he later became the high priest. - Weight 6.3 kg.
