Pair Of French Opaline Medici Glass Vases.
An important pair of Medici vases on pedestals, in the Neo-Louis XVI style, made of high-density milky white opaline. The flared neck features a wide, moulded lip, emphasised by a gadrooned frieze in gilded bronze and adorned with a delicate painted decoration in polychrome enamels, depicting rich garlands and cascades of flowers suspended from sky-blue ribbon bows. The base of the bulbous body features a miniature floral garland. Each vase rests on a gilded bronze pedestal encircling a pastel-blue opaline ring, itself adorned with floral motifs; the whole is set upon a circular, fluted bronze base with grooves.
