Object description :

"Important Oriental Baluster, Vase, H- 73 Cm, Brass, 19th Century, Calligraphy & Plants, Museum"
Exceptional vase from the Middle East, in embossed brass. Height : 73 cm - 29"
Sumptuous epigraphic and calligraphic decorations from the 19th century. Large and imposing baluster-shaped vase in patinated brass.
Very rich carved and calligraphic decorations in high-quality thuluth.
There are numerous friezes, decorated with latticework, cartouches, arabesques.
The finish of this piece is delicate, the deep and incisive engravings demonstrate the dexterity of the maker.
The golden and ancient patina sublimates the object.
These marvelous coppers and brasses, sometimes tinned, were under the Ottoman, Safavid, Kadjar and Mughal dynasties an eminent alternative to silver and they enjoyed the same status.
Pure copper is at the origin of the alloys bronze and brass.
It has been shaped by repoussé in all periods, but it has often been gilded, enameled, covered or inlaid with other materials like our model. It was used in the manufacture of everyday objects in the Eastern world, but also throughout Europe.
Boilermaking includes this type of production and certain countries, such as those of the Muslim East, have become masters in this field. This object has lived as one of the centerpieces of a large house, a palace...
This object can prove to be precious in a large decoration project, and remains a splendid collector's item as the patina is of high quality.
# Voluntarily left in its original state, it is possible to make this piece shine in all its glory.
Object is in very good condition, from the 19th century.
