important pair of hard stone marquetry from the 19th century attributed to the Opificio delle pietre dure, in Florence.
these are two important marquetry depicting multicolored birds perched on bouquets of flowers above cartouches decorated with floral scrolls.
The thick, molded frames are in yellow Siena marble.
The marquetry themselves are sealed on large slate plaques as is often the case in this Florentine workshop.
