Italian, 16th / 17th Century.
Dimensions: 4.9 × 3.7 cm.
A finely executed example of lapidary art, this diminutive vessel is turned and carved from amethyst with lobed sides and a hollowed interior. Presented in untouched condition, it retains an appealing surface with minor losses to the rim and general wear consistent with age and use.
