"Long Berber Arm-woven Scarf - Tunisia Circa 1960"
Circa 1950-1970Southern TunisiaBeautiful and long Berber scarf woven on a handloom in green wool, collected in the south of Tunisia. White stripes at both ends, with long hand-knotted fringes. Note near the fringes, three Tie and dye, dyeing by knotting with henna. Beautiful object of ancestral know-how passed down until the 20th century. Note, three or four tiny holes, the only defect to report. Beautiful condition of preservation. Preserved color. Easy to handle for an orientalist decoration or simply to keep warm!Dimensions: 440 cm x 35 cm.
