Description
Body of a nude, standing Silvanus. He has tied a deer skin over his left shoulder that widens into a fruit apron in front of his left breast. A pruning knife is placed in his lower right hand and a pine branch on his upper left arm.As a god of fertility, he is the protector of herds and cattle and is associated with Faunus. He bears many similarities to the Greek Pan. The first fruits of the fields were offered to him, as well as meat and wine.
