9 Large Antique Linen Thread Napkins, Damask Hunting Monogram Lh Circa 1880
Rare set of nine reception napkins in exceptional linen thread, woven in a very bright hunting damask. The brightness of the weave confirms a very high quality of linen, with a remarkable luster. The damask is sumptuous, hunting with woven motifs of bouquets, foliage, ribbons, hunting horns, foliage, birds, horses, deer etc.... Each napkin is huge (80 x 90 cm) and features a hand-embroidered HL monogram of great refinement. Very beautiful linen. Set in very good condition. Note that 2 napkins have imperfections: 2 fabric weaknesses on one napkin restored by iron-on cotton percale reinforcement, and stains and one napkin has a very little visible retouch in the damask. Period: Around 1880-1900 Condition: Perfect condition, never used or very little. Washed linen, ready for use or collection.
