Antique Linen Tablecloth Embroidered In Drawn Thread Work
Italian tablecloth hand-embroidered mosaic stitch using the technique known in Italy as “sfilato siciliano”.
This beautiful tablecloth was made around the mid-20th century from thick, milky-white linen, characterized by a sturdy and even weave.The quality of the linen—solid, durable, and not too thin—along with the care with which it has been used over time, account for its excellent overall condition.
However, there are a few very subtle small brown spots, the most noticeable of which is shown in the last photo of the listing:
