Sarreguemines "handkerchief" Style Earthenware Vase With Childish Imagery
Artist: Richard Froment Sarreguemines
Square in shape with its pointed edges and irregular appearance, this vase plays the trompe l'oeil and the effect of a paper bag and is part of the so-called "handkerchief" style. It is dotted with decorative stamps by Richard Froment and his childish and adorable world with, as a highlight, the representation of "Madame Printemps - Marchande de Bébés" whose baskets overflow with newborns. The stamp of the signature of Sarreguemines and that of the last quarter of the 19th century.
