"Early 19th Century Bird's Eye Maple Sewing Box With Mahogany And Steel Marquetry"
A sewing box with a very graphic spirit dating from the first half of the 19th century. It is made of bird's eye maple with mahogany marquetry bands providing a sharp visual effect between the two species, on the lid, this box is reinforced with steel corners fixed by small points also in steel whose heads are now missing in places without consequence for the fixings, the handle is also in steel. The interior consists of several compartments and it is lined with ivory silk in good general condition with wear from use.
