Oil on canvas, anonymous impressionist school, from the end of the 19th or the beginning of the 20th century. It would seem that the scene is captured at dawn, with boats anchored in front of docks or factories. All the characteristics of the new artistic movement of the time are combined in this oil on canvas. The light, diffused in a misty sky, animates the surface of the water with reflections treated in broad undulating touches. This effect of fog and smoke accentuates the pre-industrial atmosphere. Neo-classical solid pine frame with black and gold lacquer finish. Note old restorations and the slightly relaxed canvas.
