Large and beautiful carved wooden statue of Saint Benedict. Benedict of Nursia born around 480 in Nursia in Umbria and died in 547 in the monastery of Monte Casino. He was a bishop and is considered by Catholics and Orthodox as the patriarch of the monks of the West. He is the founder of the Benedictines. Beautifully carved, this majestic statue still retains some traces of polychromy and traces of xylophages. Accidents and losses at the level of the fingers.
