Small Enhanced Engraving Of Saint Margaret Of Antioch, 18th Century
Charming little watercolour engraving of popular devotion, representing Saint Margaret of Antioch, traditionally represented emerging from the belly of the dragon that had swallowed her, miraculously unharmed. In a gilded wooden frame and accompanied by a handwritten label on the back: "Watercolour engraving surrounded by a hand-painted motif, early 18th century. Margaret of Antioch slaying the dragon. The saint holds in her left hand the palm of martyrdom". The whole is in a beautiful condition of freshness and measures 11x8cm.
