Portico clock in a remarkable state of preservation, stamped by the greatest craftsmen of their time including the bronzier, gilder: "Choiselat Gallien, fabricant de bronzes du garde-meuble", the cabinetmaker "Pigneret" and the watchmaker "Lesieur Horloger à Paris", referenced in the French dictionary of watchmakers.
Charles X period circa 1840, in mahogany veneer having benefited from a tampon varnish providing protection, shine and contrast. Very finely chiseled ornamentation in mercury-gilded bronze with gold, four-column architecture highlighted by bases and capitals. Bronze dial highlighted by an outline of ivy leaves and kidneys. The space between the columns is occupied by a precision balance whose lens is also gilded with gold.
