Charles X Portico Clock With Gilt Bronze Marquetry And Globe, 19th Century
A Charles X portico regulator clock in rosewood veneer and light wood marquetry, with four columns with stringing, richly decorated with foliate scrolls, finely chased gilt bronze mounts featuring shell motifs around the dial (enamelled with Roman numerals) and a female mask on the pendulum, with its wooden base and glass globe, dating from the 19th century. This clock is in very good condition and of remarkable quality. We have its key, and the movement is in working order. It is sold with its globe and base. Please note: some pieces of veneer are slightly damaged (warped) and peeling (see red arrows), there are tiny enamel chips on the dial around the winding holes, a few small old wormholes in the wood of the base, and some veneer losses, scratches, and signs of age.
