19th-century Victorian Lizard-salamander Brooch, 14k Gold, Diamonds, Emeralds, Rubies
Rare antique Victorian-era brooch in the shape of a lizard or salamander, made of English yellow gold (14 karats) and set with diamonds ( ), emeralds, and rubies for the eyes, with its small chain and safety pin (featuring a small diamond), from England, dating from around 1870–1880, late 19th century.
This brooch is in good condition and is of exceptional quality. Tested as 14K gold. Diamonds also tested. This brooch is set with 48 diamonds, 17 emeralds, and 2 rubies.

* Since ancient times, the salamander has been a symbol of immortality, strength, and rebirth. It was believed to be able to withstand flames and was therefore regarded as a magical creature. It also symbolizes the Christian faith, which cannot be destroyed.
