Philippe Visson (1942-2008), Marine Painting "passage Of Sailboats".
Superb painting by Philippe VISSON, painter born in 1942 in New York (United States) and died in 2008 in Montreux (Switzerland). Between a father who was a famous journalist at the Washington Post and a mother who was an art historian and was an editor for thirty years at the Gazette des Beaux-Arts, Philippe VISSON devoted himself entirely to painting at a very young age and exhibited for the first time in New York at the age of sixteen. Recognition was very rapid and exhibitions followed one after the other, notably in Monte Carlo and Geneva. His very particular style made of large flat areas and contrasting colors appealed to art lovers and commissions were increasingly numerous. At the same time, exhibitions continued in Washington, New York and Paris. This very beautiful work, an oil on hardboard panel dated 1997 and signed lower right, shows a view of sailboats. It is countersigned on the back and titled "Passage de voiliers". It is countersigned and titled on the back.
