Pewter baluster PITCHER with short foot, molded pouring spout, flat-topped lid with straight thumb.
Hallmark of Antoine Joseph DESCAMPS active from 1840 (died in 1887):
1°- A.DESCAM(PS) A TOURNAY.
2°- crowned rose / AD
Height: 18.2 cm.
TOURNAI, Mid-19th century

Very good condition, a local crack is however indicated at the bottom by a colored arrow.
These pitchers were the wine measures of the Ancien Régime. They were used until the complete adoption of the Metric System.
