Coachman's Boots, In Strong Leather With Studded Soles. 19th Century
Coachman's boots, in strong leather with studded soles. Early 19th century.
Height: 0.70m
This is not, as we understand it today, a pair but as is often the case with trade tools, an assembly.
Certainly one of the original boots will have suffered too much from use and will have been replaced by another.
Both have solid repairs and stitching.
The arrangement and diversity of the studding (rectangular, ribbed round, square, etc.) show that they have passed through the hands of several shoemakers.
With the internal tie rods removed, only the stumps remain.
The rivets are intact.
Rare pieces whose leathers are, in the hands of one of our craftsmen, completely restorable.
