René Aubert (1894-1977): "La trottinette neuve", oil on canvas 132 X 97 cm, mounted in its original Louis XIII style gilded frame 144 X 110 cm. A very small restoration on the back not visible from the front. Circa 1930. The artist, a regular exhibitor of French Artists, but also a legal illustrator, was also a drawing teacher and then director of the Beaux-Arts in Versailles. We can guess that this young boy portrayed in the gardens of Versailles will not keep the immaculate white of his outfit for very long!
