French School Circa 1930/40 : Fresco Project II "music"
French School, circa 1930/40: Fresco Project II, "Music," charcoal heightened with sanguine on paper, 99 x 95 cm, squared.
On several sheets joined together, with discoloration due to glue at the joints, numerous peripheral tears, slightly faded.
An ambitious project for an allegory featuring a treble clef, musical notes, a piano, clown musicians, and a harp dancer.
One of the three projects is noted "Malric being mayor," suggesting these could be fresco designs for the Town Hall or a community hall in Rabastens, Tarn, where Ernest Malric was mayor at the time.
