Holy Water Font Glazed Earth North Boulogne Sur Mer XVIIIth Folk Art
Glazed earthenware bedside stoup, the colours of the earth and the varnish, and the style are reminiscent of a production from the North, more particularly from Boulogne sur mer?, second half of the 18th century. Red earth, thick backsplash, modelled Christ; the body of Christ, the stamped pastillage and the incised ribbons are in yellow ochre earth. Christ's abundant hair, the perizonium, the stoup and the backsplash are manganese brown enamelled. Good condition, original fixing holes, small losses to the hands, no restoration, traces of limescale in the bowl. Dimensions: 23.5 cm high x 10.5 cm wide Weight: 840 gr
