French School Around 1850 - Portrait Of A Woman With Flowers In Her Hair
Visible at the gallery
Based on the model's hairstyle, the portrait can be dated around 1850. The flowers in the hair are entirely in the romantic spirit. A handwritten inscription on the back reads “Lefevre”. It is possible that it is the painter Charles Lefebvre who exhibited portraits and history paintings as well as religious paintings for churches at the Paris Salon from 1827.
