Gilt Bronze Fireplace Trim, Stamped Japy Frères & Cie – Late 19th Century
This gilded bronze fireplace set consists of a clock stamped Japy Frères & Cie as well as a pair of candlesticks. The rectangular stepped clock features acanthus leaf decorations, friezes and a goddess mask on its front. At the damping, a large cup with chimera handles brings a masterful style to this timepiece. The white enameled dial graduated to the hours and quarter hours is highlighted with an openwork brass motif. Two lion's muzzle rings adorn the sides. This clock rests on four claw feet. The candlesticks are identical. Each of them has three scrolled light arms and a central straight one. These arms support finely chiseled bobeches and chalices decorated with acanthus leaves. The shafts are turned, they end independently with a circular pedestal. This set will bring a grandiose dimension to your interior decoration.
