Longwy Plate Swan Decor, Dated 1877
A multi-lobed Longwy plate formed of three concentric circles. The black-background outline is decorated with scrolls interspersed with pairs of swans separated by a flower vase. The bottom of the dish is decorated with alternating patterns of brightly colored leaves and flowers. The central medallion offers the image of a blossoming flower. All of the patterns are highlighted with hand-painted black lines.
