Very beautiful decorative earthenware dish representing a male character holding a cane-stick in his hand. He wears trousers reaching up to his waist, a top with a raised collar, typical masculine attire of the Directory and the early years of the 19th century. This magnificent painting on earthenware bears the signature E. Faux in the decoration at the bottom right.
