"souvenir" Notebook In Engraved Mother-of-pearl From The Romantic Period.
Composed of two polished and engraved white mother-of-pearl plates, this notebook is mounted in red leather and its interior is in ivory moire, it consists of a notebook for writing as well as a storage compartment. The notebook to write was held by a small silk ribbon which gave way over time but which is still present, see photo. To close, round slots are provided to slide the small pencil which thus ensured the closure. Here we have a wooden rod cut like a pencil without being one but which has its effect.
