Rare Pair Of 18th Century French Solid Silver Candlesticks - Vendome C. 1760

Rare Pair of Vendôme Candlesticks in solid silver from the Louis XV period with hexagonal bases made in cast, and engraved with Coats of Arms framed by standing lions, all stamped with a Count's Crown. Shafts, knots and sockets in the model also hexagonal. A Pair of Silver bobeches is attached. Pair of Candlesticks very well hallmarked (bases and bells) with Hallmarks for prob. VENDOME c. 1760 and the Hallmarks of the Master Goldsmith (Hallmark with the crowned initials PP, a standing lion in the middle and a fleur-de-lys at the point) listed in the Nocq page 412 ref 1210 as being from Vendôme but not identified. Rare Pair of Vendôme Candlesticks from the Louis XV period in very good condition and remarkably hallmarked, very good quality with its bases in cast silver, micro-scratches from use.
