Exceptional Miniature Furniture Period Late 17th Century
Very rare miniature piece of furniture representing a late 17th century money changer's desk, Louis XIV style. Made from solid walnut and inlaid with floral motifs on each drawer front. Central recessed box with two molded doors, changed handle. Eight spinning top-shaped feet, one changed at the back as indicated by an arrow in a detail photo. Six curved side drawers and a molded central drawer. Numerous losses, particularly at the corners of the drawers (later brass pull handles) and on the edge of the molded top on the front. Beautiful patina of the blond walnut. Additional special feature: each drawer is fitted at the back with a hidden ring that can be locked to the back of the piece of furniture by a swivel metal hook (one missing). Please note: Despite the losses and wear reported, this miniature piece of furniture remains an exceptional and very rare object of around 350 years. I suggest you watch a video of this beautiful object on my Instagram: moulin.d.honorine Delivery: €25 for mainland France.
