Great Christ In Bonds - 15th Century

Strikingly expressive is this Italian work from the end of the 15th or the beginning of the 16th century. Our representation of the Christ of Pity in wood is carved in the round. Jesus then awaits his torture.
Stage of the Passion, he has just been stripped of his clothes and is now dressed only in a perizonium (station X of the Way of the Cross). He will soon be hoisted onto the Cross (station XI). A bust with remarkable polychromy.
Large dimensions for this work with a height of 97 cm by 45 wide and 46 cm deep.
Good condition - some traces of old wormholes and small losses.
