Vierge And Child - Bologna, 18th Century
A small 18th century Bolognese sketch executed in a rush but in a very effective way.
It depicts a very sweet image of the Virgin with Child and an old inscription links it to the works of Carlo Cignani (Bologna 1628 - Forlì 1719)
It is painted on a round wooden tablet, inserted in a magnificent contemporary Bolognese frame, richly carved and gilded.
The work as a whole is truly remarkable and has a great effect on the wall.
Its conditions are excellent (the restoration was limited to the restoration of the gilding and the small missing parts of the frame)
Measurements:
painting cm. 20 x 20
frame cm. 42 x H.52
