Helmet entirely in brass. Round bomb with vent, visor and neck cover with protruding edges, crest in the form of a crest. Front plate representing the coat of arms of Alsace-Lorraine (in German Elsaß-Lothringen), in a wreath of oak leaves, the whole placed on two crossed axes. Leather chinstraps. Inner headdress in leather cut with ten wolf teeth.
Germany. 1871-1919. Good general condition, front visor slightly dented.
NOTE: Alsace-Lorraine (in German Elsaß-Lothringen) is the territory ceded by France to the German Empire in application of the Treaty of Frankfurt, signed on May 10, 1871 after the French defeat. The political entity, which was commonly called Alsace-Lorraine and bore the official name of Reichsland Elsaß-Lothringen, corresponds to the current territory of Alsace-Moselle, that is to say the departments of Moselle, Bas-Rhin and Haut-Rhin.
