"Mahogany Bar Cabinet, Attributed To Maison E.diot, Art Nouveau – 1900"
This mahogany bar cabinet, attributed to the Parisian house Edouard Diot, opens, at the top, with a glazed door with beveled glass with an original functional lock, bronze entry and key. When open, this door gives access to a space darkened by a mirror and decorated with a glass shelf. This set, supported by consoles profiled on the uprights, offers a niche with a recessed molded panel. The lower part opens with a drawer with an authentic lock, net entry and bronze handle, with flower decorations, characteristic of the Diot house. Below, this cabinet also opens with a flap with a central panel with a knockout equipped with a functional lock which is also original. This flap, held by brass compasses, contains a storage space to ideally allow the storage of bottles. This bar cabinet ends with an identical niche. The knockout pediment is discreet. The sides, glazed at the top, are decorated with molded panels in the same spirit at the bottom. The dimensions of this Diot bar cabinet are undoubtedly its strong point, without minimizing the beauty of its essence and its charismatic Art Nouveau style. ******** Period: 1900 Excellent condition.
