Small Kidney Dressing Table And Its Armchair In Cherry Wood - 1950

Set of two cherry pieces of furniture, consisting, first of all, of a small kidney-shaped dressing table, in the style of returning from Egypt. Its top, with framing and wire veneer in the center, opens onto a compartmentalized interior lined with removable fabric bottoms. This dressing table also offers a mirror with a perimeter underlined by a wide molding, and with lines matching those of the flap. It should be added that, in order to preserve the privacy of this space, it is equipped with an original lock in working order and accompanied by its key. As a belt, this piece of furniture offers two small drawers with brass lens buttons, in which we will find bottoms identical to those described above. This all-sided dressing table consists of four uprights in solid cherry wood, sculpted into elegant swan necks and finished in claws. They rest on a spacer with widely cut edges, itself installed on four ball feet. We will associate this piece of furniture with a lovely fireside chair, with a structure in solid cherry wood. Its ideally curved backrest and squared seat are covered with a champagne yellow fabric with foliage motifs, common to that used for the dressing table. The graceful white waterfowl will also be found on the uprights. This seat rests on four saber legs topped, for those at the front, with connecting dice decorated with flowers. We will be charmed by this perfectly matched set, both in spirit and in size.
