Martin Varnished Wig Box, XVIIIth Century
Beautiful 18th century wig box, with a domed lid, decorated with Martin varnish in imitation of red tortoiseshell with gilded chinoiserie decoration. Original hinges in chiseled and gilded brass, same for the opening button, with its lock. On the other hand, the lock entry and the key are missing. Interior in "aventurine" varnish. Quality model, with rather fresh decoration, in good general condition. Just a slight crack on the lid to report (does not deserve restoration). Dimensions: 30 X 22 X 11.5 cm
