Large Eighteenth Lacquer Wig Box
Large and beautiful 18th century wig box, in European vermis in imitation of black and gold Chinese lacquer. Very beautiful decor of pagodas, ships, lake landscapes, and two birds smooching on a quiver suggesting that this box is a wedding present. Original hardware in engraved and gilded brass, with two small handles on the sides. Interior in "aventurine" varnish. Fresh decor, with a few very small gaps and light customary restorations. Good condition, and generous dimensions: 34 X 26 X 14 cm.
