Pair Of Miniature Paintings, Empire Period, Napoleon I, Couple Of Noble Aristocrats

Pair of magnificent miniatures painted from the 1st Empire period, circa 1808, representing a couple of young people from the French aristocracy under the Empire, each dressed and hairstyled in the characteristic fashion then in vogue at that time.
Although these miniatures do not bear an apparent signature, the quality of the work makes them paintings of exceptional finesse, we believe that these could be attributed to Hamm or another renowned miniaturist.
They have just undergone a little cleaning; dusting of the paintings, cleaning of the surrounds and gilded brass decorated with palmettes, the original convex glasses and wooden frames. Finally, we would like to tell you that they are even more beautiful in reality! Our photos are far from restoring all the nuances of hue, shadow and light and even more so the extreme subtlety with which the artist obtained such a rendering for the complexion of the faces.
