This charming set under glass, in its original frame, is composed of four biscuits from the Sèvres factory representing Emperor Napoleon I (1769-1821), Emperor Napoleon III (1808-1873), his wife the Empress Eugénie (1826-1920) and their only son, Imperial Prince Louis Napoléon Bonaparte (1856-1879).
Each medallion is set in a brass frame and the whole is placed on a green velvet background.
They are 8 cm in diameter, except for the Imperial Prince whose diameter is 6 cm.
These biscuits, dating back to 1867, bear the double signature of Jules-Constant Peyre, sculptor at the Sèvres factory, active between 1811 and 1871, and that of Count Emilien de Nieuwerkerke (1811-1892), collector and high official, he was director museums of France, and became a sculptor from 1838.
