Bench - Daybed - Art Nouveau - Louis Majorelle - School Of Nancy - C. 1900
Artist: Louis Majorelle ( 1859-1926)
Rare and important bench in molded and finely carved mahogany-stained solid oak decorated with iris flowers by the workshop of Louis Majorelle in Nancy. The armrests are deeply curved and ribbed, the base is finely sculpted in a twist. Very beautiful original patina. The rare model with irises is perfectly listed in the work of Louis Majorelle. A chair of the model was previously presented at Sotheby's New York (see photo). In addition, a sofa with an identical base was also presented in the same auction house (see photo). Good condition (some traces of slight shocks to the protruding parts). Around 1900.
