XVII Period Cabinet
Rectangular drop-out cabinet in walnut veneer, red-tinted tortoiseshell, black-tinted wood, light wood interlacing fillets on a rosewood background. The frame in softwood, the backs in walnut. It opens with six drawers on the front framing an architectural door with twisted columns revealing four drawers. A bronze statuette in the style of antiquity of the goddess Minerva is placed in the center of the niche. The sides have handles. Spanish work from the 17th century H 46 x 106.5 x 34.5 cm. Provenance: Interior of the Spanish sculptor, Pablo Emilio Gargallo (1881-1934) By descent. Usual restorations, certain small bronze elements redone, missing the “neck brace” spear with added feet.
