Achille Gaston Marchal (1874 – 20th century) The Mill at La Sault (circa 1910) oil on panel 27x35cm. Achille Gaston Marchal (born in 1874) was a student at the École des Beaux-Arts. He exhibited at the Salon de la Nationale des Beaux-Arts, the Salon des Indépendants, and the Salon d'Automne. A landscape painter, he notably painted many landscapes of Seine-et-Marne, as evidenced by the collections of the Musée départemental de Sceaux.
