Kilim Rug Cradle - Bag - Gashgai Tribes - "galerie Sardje"

Magnificent rectangular textile cradle in kilim from the Gashgai tribe of Iran.
Made using a weaving technique that combines relief and fine craftsmanship. Originally, these traditional pieces were frequently used as bedding for infants before being transformed into storage or transport bags for personal belongings, food, or textiles. The natural colors obtained from plant pigments have retained all their intensity and offer a particularly luminous and warm effect.

This piece is in remarkable condition thanks to its very dense weave of thick wool, entirely woven wool on wool with high-quality materials. Designed for everyday use, these pieces were renowned for their robustness and excellent durability. Some examples are open at the ends to be used as rugs; this one has retained its complete original structure. Both authentic and highly decorative, this antique textile will easily find its place in a contemporary or more traditional interior.
